(Director: Simon Broughton)

Assuming the larger geographical area of Amir Khusrau’s influence in Rajasthan, Punjab, Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, the documentation unit of the project has been identifying and recording oral histories and performed repertoires of Amir Khusrau. Apart from Qawwali, the performed repertoire of Khusrau has been collected from the classical, folk and other contemporary genres. The archive has also been working actively towards acquiring copies of manuscripts, illustrations, academic works and other tangible items pertaining to the legacy of Khusrau.
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan: A Voice from Heaven
(Director: Giuseppe Asaro)

The Film is a tribute to one of the most beautiful voices: Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, known to the world as the king of Qawwali. Filmed in Pakistan, India, Canada and United States, the story interweaves excellent performance footage and rare behind the scenes glimpse into Nusrat’s life. Interviews conducted with many friends, artists, and producers whom Nusrat collaborated with, including Rick Rubin, Michael Brook, Bally Sagoo and the Asian Dub Foundation, tell the story of a man and his music of peace and spiritual love..
